Outreach Service

One to One Support - Group Activities

The service is operated by a team of experienced staff and volunteers, keen to help by offering both telephone support and home visits. The service is flexible and staff can telephone or visit at times to suit you. The team also organise a number of activities and events associated with our support groups.

GP / Pharmacy Initiative

Alison McMurray is working closely with all 29 local GP practices. The surgeries are actively promoting our organisation by displaying our leaflets and giving out cards to those patients identified as Carers. This initiative involves the participation of many surgery staff including GP's, Health Visitors and District Nurses as they are likely to make many contacts with those caring for a relative or friend.   Alison is also enlisting the help of local Pharmacies. A number of pharmacies are enclosing our contact card with each prescription they dispense. Once again raising awareness and making contact with those who may need or enjoy our services.

Palliative Care

If you are looking after a relative or friend who has a life-limiting condition such as cancer, heart failure, COPD or motor neurone disease, we are here to offer you the help and support you need as a carer.

Caring for someone with a life-limiting illness can be stressful, isolating and emotional. June Whale is experienced in the field of Specialist Palliative Care, dedicated to supporting carers throughout their caring role and when that caring role ends.

She can provide emotional support, access to training, group support, access to respite, social activities and stress reducing therapies for you, as well as information about help, benefits and welfare entitlements available for you and the person you are caring for.
